The best that I can remember is that Treutlen schools never had flag corps until Stuart Stanley took the helm as band director. With good support from other teachers, parents, and the community at large, fans were attending to see and hear the band as well as the football games. Stanley's professionalism continued for years after he moved to greener pastures.
When I look at my halftime videos I recognize that the Flag Corps was just as important as instrumentalists, majorettes, and cheerleaders to make a scintillating performance. The motion, flash, timing, and physical execution made the entire performance sparkle.
The band director in 1985 was Vaughn Irby. Would appreciate some help on identifying all the Flag Corps members.
