Festival attendance was projected to reach 15,000. "Projected" was much higher than actual paid attendance.
Tim Currie was elected president of the Soperton Jaycees. Other officers were John Lee, Hugh Gillis, Kenton Gillis, and board members Donnie Cammack, Wesley Crowe, and Jimmy Joyner. There were 35 charter members.
Ruby Warren's care crashed into Bernard Nobles's home on Eastman Road.
Alex Stone's home near Louisiana Avenue and Metter Road was destroyed by fire.

Mary H. Page was honored on her 80th birthday.
Soperton merchants held the second annual sidewalk sale.
Harmony Church had a big Halloween celebration.
There was a large crowd at Homecoming. The Vikings lost, 31-6, to Reidsville. Queens were Susan Toler and Barbara Lawson.
