From the beginning in 1973, the featured exhibit of the Million Pines Festival was the cane grinding by the Athel Goss family. Visitors, if they had known, would have enjoyed seeing syrup making, too, just three blocks away on New Street at the Goss home. Clayton Stephens was a welcome guest of Mr. and Mrs. Goss, and we will need some help identifying all the people.
Others that week: Football, Forestry Pageant, Nursing Home, Don Palmer's deer, Halloween spooks, McLendon, Barrett, Redwine, Glisson and Heath, Ag student prize winners, James Peacock's rattlesnake, kudzu, work in Iva Park.
