The Million Pines Garden Club undertook a community-wide clean-up in preparation for the Million Pines Festival. All family members were urged to participate. Pictured: Mayor Frank Radford with Proclamation, Edith Sweat, Joan Cammack and the Shurlings - Donna, Lauren, and Jordan. The library grounds looked they needed a little work.
Others that week FFA tractor show, Gene Pullen presenting certificates to media leaders in several counties who supported the annual Million Pines Festival, midget football, varsity football (Atkinson 6 - Vikings 0), band, big sweet potatoes grown by Ernest Williams and Felton Moye, the J. W. Douglases 50th anniversary, and Forestry Field Day.
