State of Mind - Soperton Is

I must have been feeling great in March 1980. I had every reason to feel good. I was in my mid-30s. Major illnesses hadn't come my way. It's hard not to feel good in daffy duck (daffodil) season.  I feel about my hometown pretty much the way I felt back then. Want to read what I wrote?

Cheryl Burns Parsons commented on your note "State of Mind - Soperton Is":

"Bill, I can really relate to this article and to its contents. When I graduated in 1979 (yes, I know I'm telling my age!) I could not wait to leave Soperton, but as you say Soperton does not leave you. There is something about the people here. Oh, I know you still have your "Peyton Place" drama, but for the most part the people care about each other. You really KNOW each other, the children, grandchildren, the parents, grandparents and most of the time there is a relation in there somewhere. Anyway, I said all that to say, I left and lived in other places but when it came to wanting to raise my own children, I wanted them to have that same feeling of, how do you say it?? I don't know. It is not easily expressed but we all know it."
