Sedentary Judge J. Clayton Stephens showed his other nature at his annual July 4th Picnic in the Park by pulling his Dad's pony cart loaded with children. J. C.'s wagon was used, too. Folding chairs from the clubhouse were brought out for the festivities. The Stephenses spent time and energy to create a "Mayberry" holiday that we loved. Do you recognize the children?
Others that week: Somebody's art shop, Windsor and Warnock with worms, fireworks show, fun at the river roadside park, Bill Stuckey with Jim L. Gillis and Pete Phillips, Marnie Smith on a tricycle.
