YOU ARE THERE - January 29, 1986

Windsor wrote about "The Last Linotype," a new book about Georgia newspapers, in which it was noted that The Soperton News had the highest circulation compared to county population than any other newspaper in the state - meaning the most popular newspaper. (Old copies from 89 cents to $20 at amazon.com)

Ricks wrote about his "Las Vegas Vacation," his Army experience at the Nevada Test Site.

It was freezing cold with a bit of snow that stuck.

Grand Master Carl W. Dohn was guest of Harmony Lodge at the annual banquet.
In the same year he was president of Southeaster Shrine Association http://www.seshrine.org/pastpresidents.htm

Oscar Toler was the oldest member of Harmony Lodge.

The ATFA Georgia turpentine producers met in Soperton.
