Mrs. W. W. Sammons donated the family's Nativity Scene to Harmony Baptist Church, and it was put to good use that year. Every Christmas season during the 50s and 60s, Mr. Sammons with helpers placed the figures and lights on their lawn at the corner of Main Street and Eastman Road. There was a lighted angel suspended from pecan limbs.  Music pealed all over downtown from loud speakers. You just had to be there.

Others that week: The Radfords's lighted tree on their front lawn on West Main Street, Basketball, Band at the Basketball Games, Prep, paving, and playing on the Methodist parking lot/tennis court, new field at Recreation Center, Midget football banquet, 4-H Clothing Club, Farmers Furniture personnel, TES- awards by Sue McNair.
