YOU ARE THERE - December 17, 1975


The Boosters Club pledged $1500 on a new weight machine valued at $3,000.  Other groups and individuals planned to make up the difference.

The 4-H Clothing Club made Christmas presents (lap robes) for Nursing Home residents. Mrs. Hazel Walden donated the fabric.

Harmony Baptist Church had a beautiful Nativity scene on the front lawn.  The  display was donated to the church by Mrs. W. W. Sammons.  It had been used many years at the Sammons home (Higgs Florist location in 2010) every Christmas season.

Phil Gay's Lady Vikings defeated Adrian, 46-43, followed by a 92-71 win by Richard Johnson's boys.

The Treutlen Midget Eagles had a football record of 14-2.  At the banquet Johnny Pace presented plaques to the coaches.

A new field was leveled for the Recreation Center with labor donated by Donnie Wilhite, Melvin Davis, Gary Horne, Billy Hackle, and Louie Rotton.

The Soperton United Methodist Church had a new combination parking lot - tennis court.
