YOU ARE THERE - December 18, 1985

Gloria Ricks Dixon (Daughter of Charles and Vickie Ricks) was elected a vice president of Hearst Magazines.  Her career started in 1970.  Hearst publishes Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, and a dozen other magazines.

Ricks wrote in his Christmas column that his only memorable Christmas was that he had KP duty on that day when he was in Vietnam.

Rev. Leon Palmer, pastor of Soperton Holiness Church, resigned for health reasons.

Chris Geiger completed training at Lackland AFB, Texas.

Vo-Ag instructor Owen Thomason predicted that blueberries would become a "goldmine" in Georgia.

Daryl Crews and Royce Clark were part of the student leadership at Swainsboro Tech.

The Board of Education accepted the five-district plan for the election of  board members.

Windsor's column was about the original "Kilroy," as in "Kilroy was here."
