The Treutlen County Historical Society commemorated the 200th anniversary of the birthday of Georgia Governor George M. Troup.  The organization met at the Soperton United Methodist Church for regular meeting with refreshments and took a school bus to Troups' Tomb. (Apostrophe after the s indicates that both Troup brothers are interred at the tomb, the Governor dying last.)

Others that week: Football, Braddy/Sumner, at the Historical Society: Windsor, Stephens, Lawton; watermelon in a car trunk, 'Get Out the Vote', group of kids at door of Soperton News, band, midgets, pageant contestants?, Pine Poll pix, mailing city tax notices.
