YOU ARE THERE - October 29, 1975

School bus driver, Larry Bright, recently hired and formerly of Ohio, lost control of his bus in a sandy part of Sterling Mill Road near Orland and crashed into a pine tree, causing minor injuries to at least eight students. A few days later Bright was arrested on federal charges from Ohio. (A great embarrassment to the superintendent of that time.)

Welcome home to Soperton! Glen and Pamela Powell after your previous residence in Augusta.

Administrator Roy Stewart advertised for RN's for the hospital.

The Elementary Football League sponsored championship wrestling at the old gym.

Ricks's column "Christmas in November" was about the successful football teams of Coach Bill Bass.

Windsor's column was his impressions of the previous Million Pines Festival.

The scouts were selling Benson's sliced fruit cake. (Remember how good it was?)

Jack Ellington and son Jim earned their pilot licenses.
